Welcome

This course is a Technology course called Multimedia and is designed for the 8th grade level at Lake International School in Denver, Colorado.  It is part of the International Baccalaureate program and is considered Level 3 of the IB curriculum.

As 8th graders, you've already had Keyboarding and Computer Applications in the 6th and 7th grade, maybe even TechKnow.  Now, you'll be learning more on technology, specifically Multimedia.

You probably have done some multimedia work and didn't even know it.  For instance, if you have ever worked on PowerPoint, you 've already done some multimedia work.  PowerPoint is just one way that we present information and is done using and viewing on a computer.  Another form of multimedia is creating Publications.  This also is another form in which we present information but using a computer to create it and printing it out on paper.

So, with that, can you determine the meaning of "Multimedia"?  Click here for a quick quiz .

In this class, you will be creating different types of presentations using different media.  All of this will be explained further in the Course Info page of this website.  These are new and exciting ways for you to learn more computer applications and present information in different ways.

Before getting further into the lessons, you must read all course information so that you increase your success in this course.  This course is technology intense.   Please be familiar with the course information, Lab Rules, Lab Procedures and Grading policies.  We will discuss these pages in greater detail over the first week in class.  This is essential for your success.
