Lesson 4:  Finalizing Your Video  

Objectives:  You will apply reading comprehension by following instructions to learn how to "render" your digital video  while putting all the finishing touches to make your project world-class presentation.  You will also learn how to edit, review and share your video with your friends and family.

Finishing Up!

1.  Once you have click "save and continue" in the Music tab, you're ready for the final steps.  You should now have this window.

Note:  Keep in mind that you are creating an Animoto short.  Full length videos require you to pay a fee.

2.  Because you are using Animoto Short, you cannot change any of the settings in the above screen.  All you can do is to click on "continue".  Click on "continue".

3.  The next screen will ask you to add information about your video:  a title and a short description of your video.  Once you have filled in the information, click on "create video".

Once you have done this, three things will happen:  Process, Analyze and Render.  Each of the three steps takes a few minutes to complete.

     a.  Process:  your photos and music selection will be put together in a very special way.

     b.  Analyze:  the computer will make sure that the timing for each photo is evenly spread and music matches the timing of the photos.

     c.  Render:  the computer will then make the final steps in putting everything together and turning it into an actual video file for viewing, sharing and editing.

Once Rendering is complete, your video will appear on your screen.  You can then click the "Play" button to view your creation.

Also, the web address to your video will be emailed to you.  However, because your are using the free version of Animoto, you will not be able to download it onto your computer.

Notice below the viewing screen is a Toolbox button.  By clicking on this button you open up new window.  Explore the Toolbox window and see what's there.  Do you think you can go back and edit your work?
