Writing Prompt on "2012: Fact or Fiction ":
It is becoming increasingly apparent that our world is becoming more and more concerned about the year 2012, specifically December 21, 2012. There are many theories about what will happen on that day: changes on earth, humans finally living in peace or possibly the end of the world. Your job is to prove or disprove that this day has major importance to us human beings living on this fragile planet of ours. Is doomsday fact or fiction? What do you believe? And, can you prove it?
Your job is to write a 5-Paragraph Persuasive Essay to convince your readers that December 21, 2012 is doomsday or just another day of the year. What points can you bring up to convince them? What evidence will you use to convince them that 2012 is fact or fiction?
Please click on the link to the History Channel website and watch the various videos to collect information to prove or disprove 2012. Please use headphones and take notes on a sheet of paper (Cornell Notes for AVID students). You must also search the Internet for additional information. You must do a Search Plan to complete this portion of the project. |
